The jail publishes visitation hours, not records-office hours. On-site visitation runs 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily, remote visitation runs 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. daily, and appointments must be arranged 24 hours ahead. Do not treat those times as a promise that records staff are available.
The county administrator’s general FOIA number is 231-627-8855 at 870 South Main Street. A sheriff or jail booking-photo request should still go to the sheriff when that office is the custodian. No flat booking-photo price is published. Ask for an estimate and electronic delivery; the sheriff policy allows applicable search, review, redaction, copying, media, and mailing charges.
Choose the Correct Record Office
Different agencies hold different parts of a Cheboygan County arrest. Use the source that matches the question.
- For a county booking photo, jail status, or sheriff record, follow the county booking and records path and contact the sheriff.
- For warrant procedure, use Sheriff's Most Wanted, then consult the appropriate court.
- For Cheboygan city records, use the city Department of Public Safety request route; Mackinaw City Police has its own route.
